MTIF’s Innovation Centre located at Nottingham Trent University benefits from Innovate UK grants for proof of concept work for small and medium enterprises. With over £250,000 worth of funding provided to companies within the UK.

Previous grants of up to £15,000 have been awarded to a number of different innovators, take a look at some of our previous RTO Grant projects in our success stories.

Due to MTIF’s unique position within Nottingham Trent University, we’re able to offer proof of concept work with a number of different collaborators, including The John van Geest Cancer Research Centre, NTU’s Design Matter product design and the wider academic schools at NTU.

The John Van Geest Cancer Research Center is available through NTU, bringing cutting edge cancer research services for businesses available.

With the aim to save lives and speed recovery by improving the early diagnosis and treatment of cancer. The John Van Geest Cancer Research centre’s mission is to turn biomedical discovery into health and benefit for patients. With current focuses on the research areas:

  • Cancer Cell Signalling and Therapeutic Response
  • Underpinning OMICS Technologies and Computational Biology
  • Brain Tumour Development and Therapeutics
  • Non-coding RNAs and Epigenetics in Cancer
  • Cancer Vaccines
  • Genomics-Guided Cancer Immunotherapy

Proof of concept studies: Design Matter

Product development of novel medical devices are a key part of Design Matter’s goals as a research group at NTU. MTIF and Design Matter have worked collaboratively on a number of projects around developing new products in MedTech and beyond.

Design Matter’s expertise and equipment around product design continues to help companies take a fresh view at product development or develop totally novel ideas.
